The Pipe Fitters Blue Book by W. V. Graves is the ONLY reference guide allowed while taking the NCCER test.

The Pipe Fitter's Blue Book isn't called the Pipe Bible for nothing. It's as comprehensive as it is easy to use and fits right in your pocket.  It's no wonder, with such a combination of ease and accessibility, that it's the most widely used book of its kind in the trades today.

Here at Brown Technical Books we pride ourselves on our relationships with our authors. W.V. "Duffy" Graves, author of The Pipe Fitter's Blue Book, taught pipe fitting at Lee College in Baytown, Texas, a suburb of Houston. We are privileged to carry his book.

Graves was a pipe fitter for more than 25 years and undoubtedly one of the leaders in his field.  It was Graves who saw the the need for an easy-to-use yet comprehensive reference manual that was so compact it could be carried by workers in the field.

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

W.V. “Duffy” Graves was a pipe fitter / pipe fitter foreman for over 25 years. After retirement from Shell Chemical, he taught pipe fitting at Lee College in Baytown, Texas for several years while staying active in the pipe fitting profession. During this time, he realized the need for a handy, easy-to-use reference manual with a sturdy cover that could be practically utilized in the field. The result was The Pipe Fitters Blue Book and its companion, The Pipe Fabricators Blue Book.

Duffy published his books in 1972 and 1973. He then made his vision a reality - to introduce and distribute these books into the industry so that others could utilize and benefit from these easy to understand reference manuals.

These books are sold world-wide, are the best selling Pipe Fitting manuals in the United States and are fondly referred to as “The Pipe Bible”.
